We are pleased to present to you the updated St. Helena Parish School District Pacing Guides. The 2016-2017 teacher leaders joined the curriculum department this past summer to create a wonderful resource tool, your pacing guide(s)! The updated guides will helpteachers begin navigate the Louisiana State Standards with direction and clarity. The updated pacing guides include:
    • standards/grade level expectations, which determine what students should know and be able to do by the end of the grade/course
    • "unpacking" the seemingly complicated standards/grade level expectations (GLEs)
    • student friendly objectives/aims
    • a scope and sequence that tells what and when to teach the respective curriculum(s)
    • additional curricular resources
    • and best practices.

The Louisiana Comprehensive Curriculum (LCC), revised 2008 is aligned with state content standards, as defined by  Grade-Level Expectations (GLEs). Each LCC is organized into coherent, time-bound units with sample activities and classroom assessments that will help guide teaching and learning. Please note that the order in which units are presented ensures that all GLEs to be tested are addressed prior to the administration of iLEAP/LEAP assessments.
