St. Helena College and Career Academy recently hosted an inspiring event for its 12th-grade female learners that was as empowering as it was transformative. The learners participated in a Vision Board Workshop led by none other than our esteemed alumna, Ms. Daranae Griffin. Her presentation, titled "Empower Your Future: Dream, Believe, Achieve," provided practical tools and motivating guidance to help these young women transition confidently from high school to the next phase of their lives.
Ms. Griffin, a graduate of SHCCA, returned to her alma mater to share her personal journey, illustrating the power of determination, vision, and hard work. Drawing from her own experiences, she emphasized the importance of setting clear goals, maintaining focus, and believing in oneself despite obstacles. Through her relatable storytelling and actionable strategies, Ms. Griffin inspired the girls to take charge of their futures and align their ambitions with a solid plan for success.
The highlight of the workshop was the creation of vision boards. With Ms. Griffin's guidance, the girls thoughtfully crafted boards that visually represented their goals, dreams, and aspirations. These boards served not only as creative expressions but also as tangible reminders of the futures they are striving to achieve.
“Ms. Griffin’s success is a shining example of the excellence that stems from St. Helena,” said Principal Josie Butler. “Her willingness to give back to her school community and invest in the lives of our learners is a testament to her character and commitment to empowering others.”
Learners left the workshop feeling motivated and equipped with new strategies for approaching their academic, professional, and personal goals. The event also highlighted the strength of the St. Helena alumni network, showing current learners that success is attainable and that the support of the school community does not end after graduation.
“We are incredibly grateful to Ms. Griffin for her time, energy, and passion for empowering our young women,” said Superintendent Dr. Joseph. “Her presentation truly resonated with the learners and gave them the confidence to dream big and take actionable steps toward achieving their goals.”
Events like this Vision Board Workshop reinforce the district’s commitment to preparing kids for life beyond high school. By providing opportunities for mentorship and real-world insights, St. Helena continues to equip its learners with the tools they need to succeed in college, careers, and beyond.
As Ms. Griffin concluded her presentation, she left the learners with one powerful message: “Dream big, work hard, and always believe in yourself. Your future is limitless.”
This memorable event will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the 12th-grade female learners, serving as a catalyst for their success as they prepare to embark on their next journey.
