St. Helena Parish School Board Approves 2025-2026 School Year Calendar
February 17, 2025 – The St. Helena Parish School Board has officially approved the 2025-2026 academic calendar, introducing several key changes aimed at improving attendance, efficiency, and safety for learners and their families.
One significant change is the elimination of staggered start days at the beginning of the school year. The decision was made in response to attendance concerns and aims to ensure a smooth and consistent start for all students. Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, all learners will start on the same day, fostering a more structured and engaging opening to the academic year.
Additionally, the new calendar includes an Emergency Schedule for Early/Delayed School Starts, providing clear guidelines for parents on adjusted school hours in case of unforeseen circumstances. This measure ensures that families are informed about when their children will arrive and depart during emergencies, improving overall communication and preparedness.
The Board also confirmed that school hours for the 2025-2026 academic year will be from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This schedule maintains a full instructional day while allowing ample time for academic and extracurricular activities.
