We are delighted to announce that Joel Givens, our Gifted/Talented Art Teacher, has secured a place in the LA DOTD sponsored Trac & Ride STEM Outreach Solutions Workshop scheduled for March 18-19. This workshop, supported by the American Association of State Highways and Transportation, offers $1,500 worth of STEM materials and lessons for participants. Among the exciting activities included is a bridge building kit, which she intends to incorporate into the curriculum for next year's state bridge building contest with my students. Who knows, perhaps one day we'll see some alumni pursue careers as civil engineers.
