Super Saturday
Super Saturday with STEM NOLA Draws Large Turnout for Hands-On Learning and Family Engagement

Greensburg, LA - Our St. Helena school community experienced an exciting educational event that combined family fun with immersive learning opportunities, as we hosted "Super Saturday," a day filled with interactive science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) activities. Held at St. Helena College and Career Academy, the event was a resounding success, drawing in families from across the area and fostering a deeper connection between learners, parents, and the school community.

The event, which saw an impressive turnout, focused on making STEM concepts accessible and enjoyable for learners of all ages. Kids were able to engage in hands-on STEM projects that made learning feel like play. Each station was designed to spark curiosity and challenge young minds to think creatively, with activities aimed at illustrating complex concepts in a way that felt accessible and, most importantly, enjoyable.

For parents, the day presented a valuable opportunity to connect with school staff and administrators to discuss their children’s educational journey. Staff members were on hand to provide insights into each learner’s academic progress and share data-driven information on how they are progressing across various subjects. This direct engagement allowed parents to ask questions, understand their child’s learning needs, and learn about strategies to support academic growth at home. This aspect of Super Saturday helped establish a collaborative environment where parents, learners, and educators came together in support of each child’s academic success.

Organizers and attendees alike expressed excitement about the event’s success. One parent, who brought both her son and daughter, noted, "Seeing my kids light up with excitement while learning was amazing. And getting a chance to talk with their teachers about what they’re working on in school was so valuable."

Super Saturday is part of our commitment to providing learners with experiences that go beyond the classroom and encourage lifelong curiosity and engagement with STEM. We’re thrilled with the turnout and the positive impact we could see from everyone who attended.

With plans already underway for more events like Super Saturday, local schools and STEM NOLA are dedicated to bringing further enriching, interactive educational opportunities to the community. Future events are expected to continue building bridges between students’ academic life and their home environment, strengthening both parent engagement and student success.

The positive reception of Super Saturday has underscored the community’s enthusiasm for educational events that are both meaningful and engaging. As the community looks forward to future gatherings, Super Saturday serves as a reminder of the powerful impact that interactive learning and family engagement can have on student development.
