Our Agriculture leaners are hard at work filling and preparing raised crop beds generously donated to our program!

These learners are applying their knowledge of soil science and sustainable growing practices as they lay the foundation for a successful planting season.

A huge thank-you to our donors and supporters who made this possible -your contributions are helping learners grow skills that will last a lifetime!

Today our Agriculture learners participated in a fieldtrip to Warner's Hall Farm located here in Greensburg, La.
The learners gained an opportunity to strengthen their appreciation for crop production and expand their agricultural horizon. The learners were exposed to the culture practices of cole crops, tillage radishes as a cover crop, farm fresh demonstrations, starting seeds at home, how to recognize poisonous plants, and a different variety of turnip greens.

Warner's Hall farm also partners with agencies like USDA and Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry for efficient ways to provide fresh produce for families.

We’re thrilled to share a wonderful development from our Agriculture program at St. Helena College and Career Academy! Our dedicated agriculture learners have successfully built a new chicken coop as part of their hands-on learning experience.
This project not only enhances their understanding of animal husbandry and sustainable farming practices, but also contributes to our school’s commitment to experiential education. The coop will house chickens raised by the learners, and will serve as a living classroom for lessons in biology, responsibility, and entrepreneurship.

Ms. Courtney’s interns showed up bright and early this morning united, proudly representing the AVENGERS! 💥 They earned their AVENGER shirts as the first challenge winners with the lowest number of discipline referrals in September. Their pride is undeniable, and they’re already planning future missions. The Class of 2026 believes they will conquer ALL the October missions… but the question remains: WHO WILL RISE? WHICH SUPERHERO SOCIETY WILL CLAIM VICTORY NEXT? 👀 The Avengers are ready and they "want y’all to remember them." #superheroes #Avengers #interns #seniors #StHelenaWinning
